First
First,
thanks for your interest in Xtreme Performance Center, we’re glad you’re here.
If you’re considering the purchase of powersports equipment, selecting the right
dealer is as important as selecting the right machine. As with equipment, there
is no shortage of options when picking a dealer. We want you to make the right
choice, the Xtreme choice for Xtreme setup, Xtreme service, and Xtreme fun!
Who is Xtreme? Xtreme is a family owned and
family operated business. Donavon W. Facey is the company’s President and Don
Facey is the Vice-President. Mindy Facey (Donavon’s wife) works as the company’s
General Manager and Controller. The rest of our team is made up of powersports enthusiasts, most of
whom have been customers or employees for years. The Faceys have been heavily
involved personally with powersports since 1971, making the opportunity to own a
dealership a natural fit for them. A couple of years ago, we put together
a slide show that
chronicled some of our powersports adventures over the last thirty plus years.

What’s the Xtreme Story? Xtreme started as a
very small Polaris dealership in Dacono when the Faceys purchased it in 1994. In
1997, the second store in Castle Rock was added. Since then, Xtreme has grown to
be one of the largest Polaris dealerships in Colorado and was the National
Polaris ATV PG&A Dealer of the Year. Xtreme became a BRP dealer in 2000 and has
since won the Bombardier National ATV Dealer of the Year award in 2002 and was
the 2004 Ski-Doo Western US Dealer of the Year. Presently, Xtreme is Bombardier
Platinum Certified and a Master Service Polaris Dealer. Kawasaki was also added
in 2002 in Castle Rock and Xtreme became the Yamaha and Suzuki dealership in
Castle Rock in the summer of 2005. When BRP introduced the new Spyder
Roadster in 2007, Xtreme became one of the first Spyder dealerships in Castle
Rock. In March of 2008, Xtreme acquired Twin Peaks Powersports and moved
its north store to Longmont at Highway 66 and I-25. The new store added
Yamaha, Spyder, and Victory to the line-up and a great new facility.
The Xtreme Sales Philosophy: At Xtreme,
we believe very strongly that buying a recreational product should be a fun
experience. While others think that the high pressure, “used car” approach is
effective and profitable, we do not. We want you to buy the right machine at the
right time. While we know that price is a factor in any business transaction, we
don’t want to be the cheapest. We want to deliver the best value to our
customers, not just the lowest price. We do not
believe in quoting one price and then charging another at delivery.
Specialists: While there are those who
dabble in the powersports business, we do not. We do not sell lawnmowers, weed
whackers, cars, boats, or RVs. We believe very strongly that it is very
difficult to do many things well, so we concentrate on doing a few things and
doing them right. At Xtreme you’ll find ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft,
motorcycles, and trailers. We stock over a huge selection of parts and
accessories and have a full staff of certified technicians.
High Altitude Setup: At Xtreme, we believe
very strongly that if you purchase a machine from us, it must run right in the
mountains. If you’re new to the powersports industry you may not understand why
this would be an issue. Whereas current automotive technology allows the engine
management system of the vehicle to adjust for changing conditions, that is not
the case with the majority of powersport equipment. Without going into a long
technical discussion, there are basically two questions at altitude. First, we
have less air so every vehicle needs to be calibrated for that condition to
optimize power, fuel economy, drivability, etc. Second, most current ATVs and
snowmobiles use a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that is designed to
keep the engine operating at its peak power RPM. That also be must be
recalibrated for high altitude because engines do not produce as much power at
altitude as they do at sea-level. Other vehicles like personal watercraft need
different impellers and air/fuel calibration to work properly in Colorado’s thin
air. When you buy a machine, we always include our “Xtreme Setup” as standard
equipment. We could sell machines cheaper without it, but we don’t because we
believe so strongly in delivering a product that works. Because Xtreme has made
high altitude setup an issue, you may get told elsewhere that they also have a
high altitude setup. Please ask them how they develop their setups and to show
you some evidence they’ve even ridden the machine you’re buying at high
altitude.
How does the Xtreme Setup Get Developed?
Because we believe so strongly in proper calibration at high altitude, Donavon
W. Facey, President and Owner of Xtreme oversees the testing program. For ATVs,
we have built a dedicated testing trailer that houses our ATV dynamometer. The
ATV dyno allows us to check torque, horsepower, shift patterns, air/fuel
mixture, and many other variables. We have a dedicated test facility right on
the Piute ATV trail in Utah that houses our snowmobile engine dyno, water test
tank, and allows access to over 1,200 miles of ATV trails. Our standard ATV test
loop takes us from 6,000’ to 12,000’. The snowmobile engine dyno is a
combination of both an industry leading hydraulic absorber and data acquisition
system; the test tank is used to do preseason snowmobile calibration tests. We
use all of our testing resources to develop our stock setups and Xtreme mod
packages that enhance performance.
